CURRICULUM
Primary section
The primary section is established in a separate building from classes 1-5 consisting of 6 classrooms for each section. A total of 1078 students learn in the primary section of Defence Services College.
With the aim of improving the computer literacy skills in students of grade 4 and 5, a well-equipped computer laboratory is established in the primary section. The primary section also consist of a well managed library.
Sports-meet of the primary section is held annually as well as Dhamma sermins, sil campaigns and bhakthi Gee programs are held without fail to improve the ethical values of students.
Secondary section
There are 1798 students learning in the secondary section of Defence Services College. There are 8 classes for each section. There is a well equipped science laboratory, computer laboratory, math room as well as a language lab to facilitate the students. Students can engage in athletics, swimming and sports activities with the guidance of expert coaches.
Advance level section
Being the heart of the school, A/L sections provides education for about 468 students with modern facilities and experienced teachers. Biology, Mathematics, Commerce, Technology and Arts section have been established in the section giving the opportunity for students to select the desired scheme. Standard science labs with all high-grade equipment as well as other facilities can be seen. Both English medium and Sinhala medium classes are conducted under the supervision of the section heads and teachers.
